Club president Chris Ibbotson said growers from as far as South Australia would be attending the festival.
“We’ll also have many of our 100 or so members, some who have been growing orchids for almost 40 years, on hand to help with questions,” she said.
Orchids on display and for sale will include native species such as dendrobiums, as well as laelia, cymbidiums, cattleyas, miltions and many others.
As well as plant sales and potting demonstrations, there will a range of planting accessories such as bark, growing mixes and pots for sale, a photo competition, food and refreshments, raffles and garden metalwork displays.
The festival will be held at the Kialla Paceway, 7580 Melbourne Rd, Kialla. Gates are open from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, May 14, and 10am to 3pm on Sunday, May 15. Entry is $5.
