Deniliquin Kolety Lagoons Landcare Group member Dr John Conallin said it will be held at McFaull Park (next to the Deniliquin Waring Gardens, off Civic Place) on Tuesday from 10am.
The release is part of a long running program to restock the lagoons with threatened fish species.
To be released are southern purple spotted gudgeons and southern pygmy perch.
The release will include a morning tea and there will be some talks and displays.
CBD elf antics
The Naponda Community Store has jumped on the elf on a shelf bandwagon this Christmas.
A cheeky elf appeared in the window of the shop overnight Wednesday.
The volunteers encourage you to head along with the family to see what antics he gets up to over the coming weeks.
While your there, pop and peruse the shelves.
You’ll find some great presents, stocking fillers and goodies for the Christmas table (if they last that long).
Proceeds from the store fund Naponda Hospital Auxiliary projects supporting Deniliquin Hospital patients.

Meet and greet day postponed
The Deniliquin RSL Sub-branch’s information/meet and greet and memorabilia display day planned for this Sunday has been postponed.
The event will now take place on Sunday, February 5, 2023.
More information will be provided closer to the date.
The decision was made due to the flood conditions in Deniliquin and surrounding areas, and community priorities at the present time.
The meet and greet part of the day was designed to introduce locally based RSL NSW district support officer Mick Morrissey.
Mr Morrissey is available for a chat, beer, coffee or beverage of choice every Friday at the Deniliquin RSL Club between 4pm and 6pm.
