Ms Brandie was raised in Mildura, with her mother, aunt and sister all nurses.
Ms Brandie’s career has involved time spent at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Mildura Base Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Cabrini Hospital in Malvern and Mercy Hospital in Werribee.
She returned to Mildura in 2010 and entered the aged care sector.
Ms Brandie said this let her apply her clinical skills to improve the quality of senior people.
“I worked for various community and corporate aged care organisations, never losing sight of what is important to the client and family,’’ she said.
“I then moved to Gladstone, Queensland, as chief operations officer for a home care/NDIS organisation and residential manager for another aged care organisation.
“I spent two years in Queensland but missed my family and the seasonal changes the Victorian weather brings, the colour and landscapes.
“Everything in Victoria seems to be easily accessible after living in Queensland.
“I have a 15-year-old son, Noah, who has embraced the move and is actively involved in rowing at Nagambie — one of his passions.
“Living in a smaller community has positive aspects of increasing independence.”
