Now located at 317 Honour Avenue, the new 500sqm building on Federation Council land meets all their increasing needs.
The 35m long and 15m wide facility includes a large work area, storeroom, office and kitchen/meeting area.
“We’ve moved in ahead of our official opening which will be later in the year,” foundation and current president Lynn Fredericks said.
“We’re rapt with this building and the whole block which has plenty of carparking space.
“We have a good smattering of timber workers, steel workers and electricians and plumbers helping out.
“There are plenty of small projects on the go for the likes of schools and we have bigger projects such as making piggery feeders for the next two years.”
A NSW State Government grant was obtained by Federation Council towards the new building’s cost.
“We thank Federation Council, James Webb of Focus Engineering and a lot of other small businesses with their kind donations of support, including equipment,” Mr Fredericks said.
“We’ve had a lot of help from the community.”
In 2016, Corowa Men’s Shed began their journey in free rental accommodation of The Free Press located beside the town-based newspaper.
Mr Fredericks expressed his appreciation of the start-up location, which was followed by a nearby move to Queen Street in 2018.
Men’s Shed members are settling into their new premises.
It appears there will be no more moves, and the Honour Avenue location will be the home for decades to come.
