On August 7, detectives with the assistance from Dog Squad executed a warrant at a Bundalong address.
Detectives located and seized a commercial quantity of methyl amphetamine and a substantial amount of cash.
A 38-year-old man and 36-year-old woman, both from Bundalong, were charged with traffick commercial quantity of drug of dependence, possess drug of dependence, deal with proceeds of crime, and handle stolen goods.
The woman was bailed while the man was remanded. Both will appear at Wangaratta Magistrates Court on November 7.
On August 13, detectives executed a search warrant at a Yarrawonga address where a small quantity of drugs and a phone was seized.
A 21-year-old Yarrawonga man was charged with traffick drug of dependence and possess drug of dependence. He was bailed to appear at Wangaratta Magistrate's Court on November 7.
Also on August 13, detectives then executed a search warrant at another Yarrawonga address where they seized a shotgun and a large quantity of vapes.
A 24-year-old Yarrawonga man was charged with prohibited person possession of firearm and possess schedule four poison. He was bailed to appear at Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court on November 11.
On August 21, detectives executed a search warrant at a Yarrawonga address where a quantity of cannabis was seized. A 56-year-old Yarrawonga woman was issued with a caution.
Cobram Crime Investigation Unit Detective Sergeant Marcus Boyd said information provided by the community enabled police to advance their efforts to remove illicit drugs and any drug trade from local communities.
“The investigation was assisted by information provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers,” Sgt Boyd said.
“Community safety is our number one priority, which is why we will continue to run these investigations to remove illicit drugs from our streets.
“Drugs like those seized during this operation are not just illegal, they have the potential to destroy lives and fuel further crime.
“Our message for anyone involved in the illicit drug trade is clear – there is no safe haven for you in regional Victoria."
