Byramine Homestead (Best Tourism Business), Yarrawonga Automotive (Best Professional Service Business), Lakeside Conveyancing (Best New Business), Mulwala Water Ski Club (Best Regional Business from Cross Border) and the Yarrawonga Mulwala Community Learning Centre (Most Accessible Business) were among the local businesses to take out awards.
Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said the awards aim to honour the innovation, dedication, and resilience that local businesses demonstrate every day.
“The success of businesses is testament to the hard work of their leaders and teams,” Mr Emonson said.
“They play a critical role in driving economic growth, creating jobs, and fostering a vibrant business scene that benefits our whole community.
“We received over 500 nominations in the 11 award categories located within the Moira Shire and those just across the river - a fantastic response, and we thank our community for taking the time to make these nominations.”
The winner of each award was chosen by a voting process. Mr Emonson said an impressive 7,420 votes were received for the nominated businesses.
“By recognising the achievements of local businesses tonight, we also acknowledge their vital importance to the continued prosperity and strength of our region.
“Moira Shire Council is proud to celebrate the outstanding businesses that make Moira a thriving hub for commerce and innovation.
“Each winner has demonstrated excellence in their respective fields and is a true reflection of the spirit of our business community,” Dr Emonson said.
The Moira Business Achievement Awards were hosted by Masters of Ceremonies Mark Bloodworth and comedian Jeff Green.
