Works to install solar lighting along the Midland Hwy, Mooroopna shared path will be carried out from Tuesday, April 9, to Friday, April 12.
Watters Electrical Pty Ltd will install solar lighting along the unlit section of the shared path between Elsie Jones Dve and the WB Ferrari Park Recreation Reserve entrance.
Traffic management will be in place along the site for the duration of the works, and there should only be minimal disruptions.
Once complete, the lighting will operate from dusk until dawn, and the light levels will automatically adjust depending on the activity on the path.
The new lighting aims to provide a positive economic solution by utilising renewable energy and reducing light pollution by adjusting light levels to suit the needs of people using the path.
The smart solar lighting solution will be implemented to try and enhance safety, security and community engagement, while promoting accessibility, connectivity and environmental sustainability for residents and visitors.
This solution aims to extend the functioning hours of public assets, facilitate outdoor exercise and foster a sense of inclusion and equity within the neighbourhood.
