And their eyes aren’t deceiving them, as the journey to transform the 500 sq m structure into a work of art has just hit its stride.
Now cleaned, sealed and primed, the water tank will sit in preparation for artist Jimmy Dvate’s arrival on February 8.

The art process is expected to be completed by March 8.
Kyabram Project Committee chair Allan Weeks said this milestone was a long time coming, and that Kyabram’s residents should look forward to seeing the water tank transform throughout February.
“It’s certainly exciting to see, especially after four years of working on it,” he said.
“A few people have noted to me that it definitely looks cleaner.
“The Kyabram Project Committee would also like to thank Goulburn Valley Water Kyabram plant manager Rodd O’Donnell for his continuing cooperation.”

So far, the Kyabram Project Committee has raised $110,000 and $12,000 in pledges towards its $140,000 goal.The completed mural will join a growing number of community artworks in northern Victoria, including the silo art trail, which covers the towns of Tungamah, Devenish, St James, Goorambat, Colbinabbin and Rochester, with murals in Tongala and Benalla.
