Northern Hire Group director Chris Feldbauer began his journey into plant and equipment hire when, as a teenager, he worked weekends at Echuca Hire to supplement his meagre apprentice wage.
Many years later, in addition to his floor sanding business Prosanding Timber & Concrete, Chris began his own specialised hire company — Northern Generator Hire and Maxwell Mobile Signs — stocking generators and VMS boards.
When Echuca Hire closed its doors in 2014, Chris often drove past the empty yard, keenly aware of the loss of plant and equipment hire options in Echuca.
So in early 2015, Chris created Northern Hire Group, and a year later he filled that empty yard and opened the doors of his new business and opened a Bendigo sub-branch in 2021.
In December 2024, he expanded again, opening a Yarrawonga location at 69-75 Benalla-Yarrawonga Rd with lovely staff there to help everyone who walks through its doors.
