Last Thursday, Justin Clancy undertook several positive engagements with the Corowa Local Health Advisory Committee, Murrumbidgee Local Health District, Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network and Redgum Medical Group.
“Regarding bulk-billing services for Corowa, it's pleasing to learn from Redgum Medical Group how they are recruiting more GPs with the intention to serve both Corowa and Howlong and to help provide more bulk-billing options for health care card holders, pensioners, and those under 16,” Mr Clancy said.
“There’s a push to ensure that the endoscopy service for Corowa Hospital is operational as soon as possible.
“There’s also an urging of Murrumbidgee Local Health District and the NSW Government to progress clinical service planning for Corowa Hospital and to recognise the elements of care that are important to the Corowa community.”
Mr Clancy applauded the local community for raising concerns about the provision of ongoing aged care in Corowa following the decision by the NSW government to close the Corowa Hospital Nursing Home.
He also appreciated the opportunity to visit Corowa Hospital and the Corowa Hospital Nursing Home.
“Krista and the whole team provide amazing care, and in particular, I want to acknowledge Belinda and her team in the nursing home,” Mr Clancy said.
“Right across Corowa, the community speak of the exceptional care provided in the nursing home, something I was able to witness today – we need to ensure that both staff and residents during this time receive the support they deserve.”
The Member for Albury welcomed the bringing together of the Primary Health Network and Murrumbidgee Local Health District together with local community.
“I’ll be continuing to work along with Anne and the LHAC committee to bring focus on these issues,” Mr Clancy concluded.
