What better way to welcome in 2024 with the annual Echuca Harness Racing Club meeting on New Year’s Day.
Bumper crowds traditionally pack into the Frank Ryan Raceway for what is the premier race meeting of the year for the club.
The meeting regularly attracts visitors, not just in the crowd, but on the track, with some of the state’s top drivers and trainers marking Echuca on the calendar.
The New Year’s Day Cup is the feature event, while the Frank and Carmel Ryan Memorial Pace also attracts attention.
Echuca Harness Racing Club puts on an array of off-track activities, with live music, kids activities, barbecues and numerous food options, including the always popular ice-cream van.
The punters are catered for with bookmakers and the TAB in operation, while the club also puts on a Punters Club where people can buy a ticket for $10.

The Echuca meeting follows hot on the heels of the annual Elmore Cup, which in recent years has relocated to Bendigo.
The Elmore Cup program is slated to be run on Thursday, December 21, one night after Echuca holds its only December meeting.
Earlier in December, the Gunbower Pacing Cup will dominate attention.
The club is selling VIP Entry tickets for $70 which includes beer, wine, champagne, soft drink, water, food platters and a racebook.
Gunbower will be the venue for a number of Christmas break-ups, with buses running from Echuca and Cohuna.
Bookings are required when it comes to hospitality.
