It is open to the general public as well as ambrose players in the Saturday and Sunday competitions.
The Friday night Mizuno Shootout is from 5.00pm to 8.00pm, with double the prize money this year, with $2,000 up for grabs.
Each participant will receive two free shots and two balls with their MFA entry. It’s $2 per ball or $5 for three balls.
The junior (under 16s) will be first up, from 5.00pm to 6.00pm with the nearest the pin winner to receive a $200 gift prize. And $500 is up for grabs for the adults.
An ambrose player or someone from the general public could win – a lot of low handicap golfers have never had a hole-in-one so anyone could claim the prize for nearest the pin.
“We’re rapt for Mizuno’s continued and increasing support, and we’re thrilled to have Nelson Aviation on board, generously donating $1,000 for nearest the pin on the practice fairway,” chief organiser for the 13-year-to-date event Shaun (Magro) Whitechurch said.
“There will be a barbecue and music which will ensure and a fun-filled Mizuno Shootout to kick off proceedings.”
Over 200 players are booked in for both the Saturday and Sunday competitions and there are stars lined-up for the free Sportsman’s Night Saturday.
Saturday night’s entertainment is always a big hit with golfers. It’s free admission to hear a question and answer format with Magro at the microphone.
