Free consultations available for GV residents to help manage their health

An opportunity for GV residents to receive free health consultations is available on various dates during March and April.

Funded by Primary Care Connect, CP@Clinic will be offered for residents aged 18 and over as an Outreach program across the Goulburn Valley.

Free health checks will be conducted by community paramedics and nurses in hopes of increasing management and prevention of chronic disease or illness.

Health checks will be available at:

Family Haven Mooroopna
MEAC Mooroopna
Neighbourhood House Murchison
Shepparton South Community Centre
Euroa Library
Nathalia Library

At a CP@Clinic session, the community paramedic may:

Ask questions about your health
Review your medications
Take your blood pressure
Ask you to do a walking test
Give you health advice and information
Set health goals with you
Connect you with your primary care provider (GP or other practitioners) and other community resources

“The program aims to address health inequity within our communities,” Primary Care Connect executive manager health services Leigh Stanbrook said.

“Issues such as affordability, access and transportation and how to navigate our complex health system often means that our most vulnerable people miss out on vital health checks which can be crucial to prevention or identifying medical issues.

“Our team can identify issues early and refer people on to the relevant services they may require.”
