Jan Childs’ unique description of the music that will be performed at a free concert in Rochester on April 30 should be enough to ensure a cross-section of the community attends the musical event.
Speaking at the Rochester Community Chat breakfast she said the Bendigo United Brass Band which had volunteered its time to play at the shire hall would not just be playing “oompa oompa’’ music.
She assured those at the breakfast, and the wider community, that there would be a range of music — from the historic to many more modern tunes that would appeal to all age groups.
The Campaspe Shire Council-supported event is a free concert on Sunday, April 30, at 1.30pm at the site hall.
Bendigo United Brass Band will be playing everything from the Beatles to the classics, to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and a range of songs too numerous to mention.
Jan said while she had catered for 100 people and already had about 70 people booked in, she would not be closing the doors to extra numbers.
