Pat Farmer is an ultramarathon runner, motivational speaker and former Member for Macarthur in south-west Sydney - and he’ll be running into Violet Town on Tuesday, September 5.
He is currently on a 14,400km run around Australia to raise awareness about the importance of the upcoming referendum on the Voice to Parliament and constitutional recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
He has taken on this challenge to raise awareness, support and engagement for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament.
And Pat is no stranger when it comes to running long distances.
He is a multiple world recorder holder for endurance running, and has run from the North to the South Pole, the length of India and Vietnam, through the Middle East, around Australia and around America.

He will arrive in Violet Town after completing about 70km that day, and will be welcomed by the Violet Town and District Recognise Group.
“There will be a gathering with Pat and other speakers at the Community Complex in Cowslip Street, Violet Town starting at 5pm that evening,” A VTDR group spokesperson said.
“Please come along and hear from this inspirational person and learn more about why this issue is so important for our country.”
