Robert Iervasi was previously group chief executive officer and board director of Asahi, the biggest beer business in Australia.
Mr Iervasi managed 17 manufacturing sites, across alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic drinks and coffee in Australia and New Zealand.
SPC Global chair Hussein Rifai said he was delighted to welcome Mr Iervasi to the board.
“His remarkable track record of leadership and his extensive experience in the food and beverage industry will undoubtedly enhance our strategic direction and contribute to the ongoing success of our organisation,” Mr Rifai said.
“We look forward to the fresh insights and innovative thinking that Robert will bring to our team.“
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Iervasi said he had been impressed with the portfolio offering, growth ambitions and capability within SPC Global.
“I am thrilled to be part of an organisation that is not only growth-oriented but also dedicated to meeting the dynamic needs of customers and consumers,” he said.
SPC appointed a new chief executive officer, Neil Brimacombe, about two months ago, following the departure of former CEO Robert Giles.
Mr Giles was intending to take court action for unpaid entitlements but Country News understands the matter was settled.
Mr Rifai would not comment on Mr Giles’ departure but said the matter had been settled in the best interests of the shareholders and the company.
