The installation welcomed the first Master Mason installed as Worshipful Master of Campaspe Valley Lodge 937 Echuca recently.
Scott Robinson, a member of Freemasonry Victoria for 26 years, became the first Master Mason to become Worshipful Master in the lodge’s 12-year history.
Campaspe Valley is the newest lodge in Echuca, where Freemasonry has existed since 1864.
More than 80 members of Freemasonry Victoria and guests were in attendance, led by the head of Freemasonry Victoria, Right Worshipful Brother Anthony Booker Grand Master Elect assisted by members from all over Victoria, including four past Deputy Grand Masters.
After the Installation Ceremony there was a formal banquet with a friendly atmosphere followed by music once the dinner and formalities were over.
Scott aims to elevate the profile of the misunderstood and frequently misrepresented order in Echuca community.
“It is the most ancient and honourable brotherhood in existence and has a great deal to offer men over the age of 18 years in the community. Its members have contributed at all levels of society and wish to continue to do so,” he said.
Scott is also a member of Mark Masonry, Holy Royal Arch Chapter, Rose Croix and the Knights Templar.
He also would like to encourage existing members of Freemasonry who have recently moved to Echuca-Moama to touch base, and any genuinely interested man over the age of 18 years to make inquiries.
Freemasonry is going through a revival in the district, so members want to make Campaspe Valley Lodge a place where people want to be and keep this history evolving.
