Finley High School had another successful Holbrook Sheep and Wool Fair, being named the most successful school once again.

The NSW school took out the title at the June 12 to 14 event ahead of schools from Yanco, Hay, Culcairn (Billabong High School), Wagga Wagga (Riverina Anglican College), Ballarat and Sunbury (Salesian College).
Agriculture teacher Gary Webb said the school’s success could be put down to its livestock breeding program.
‘‘Our success is a testament to the quality of our breeding program over many years,’’ Mr Webb said.
‘‘We have had the support of a number of Poll Dorset breeders who have supplied us with quality rams or semen to breed with.
‘‘The Frost family, at Bannister, have supplied us with semen for the last four years.
‘‘Genstock Australia, at Jerilderie, have been donating their services to AI the ewes each year.
‘‘We have a quality flock to choose from, that has terrific evenness and very few faults.
‘‘Phil Murrowood shore our sheep show team again; he does an outstanding job to see them presented exceptionally.’’
Finley High School also won Supreme Sheep of the Show with a ewe born in April last year.
‘‘The judges remarked on her beautiful style, thick and deep muscling, correctness and excellent presentation,’’ Mr Webb said.
