For the 46th year running, the St Joseph’s Primary School fête will return to Cobram.
With guests flocking from across the district, Deputy Principal Stephanie Arundel said the event was something the whole community looked forward to each year.
“We get people coming who don’t even come to our school,” Mrs Arundel said.
Mrs Arundel and Principal Sarah Iddles said they were both most excited to see guests enjoy their time at the event.
And whether you’re out to satisfy a sweet tooth or bite into a sizzling burger, there will be something for taste buds of all shapes and sizes.
Parents of students at the school are set to tantalise the senses with an array of homemade arancini, cannoli, chicken schnitzel and lasagne.
But the main attraction on the day - other than the aforementioned food and drinks - will be performances from each year level at the school.
Students all the way from Prep to Year 6 will grace the spotlight with a song and accompanying dance routine.
Mrs Iddles said her students and their teachers had been rehearsing hard behind the scenes for the past few weeks.
Meanwhile, the kids will be entertained with a jumping castle, an amusement ride, an inflatable soccer pitch courtesy of Skillzone, a petting zoo and the school’s own train.
In the past, proceeds from the fête have gone towards projects like a walking track and outdoor furniture on the school grounds.
The grass has never been greener for the annual event.

This year, Mrs Iddles said funds raised would be spent towards installing a digital sign outside the school.
Mrs Iddles said the sign was something the school would utilise all-year-round to announce upcoming events and reminders for school enrolments.
This year will also see the return of the spinning wheel raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses. A lawn mower and a fuel voucher valued up to $500 are just two of the prizes up for grabs.
Fruit and veggie boxes are available for purchase, while those who can’t make the fête can pre-order lasagne for $40 to be picked up the day before.
Mrs Iddles and Mrs Arundel couldn’t give enough thanks to the families and local businesses that continue to support the fête each year.
“We cannot thank them enough. It wouldn’t run without them,” Mrs Iddles said.
If you’d like to lend a hand for an hour or two on the day, volunteers can sign up by contacting the school on (03) 5872 1573.
No experience is necessary, said Mrs Iddles, and training will be provided on the day.
“If you put your name down, you’ll be well-supported on the day,” she said.
The free event will be held at the school on Saturday, March 15, from 9am. Both entrances on Broadway St and Hay Ave will be open.
