The plan envisages a feasibility study into the viability of an indoor equine arena.
The existing sand arena could be extended to cater for pony club activities.
The existing pony club cross-country course could also be upgraded to improve safety for riders.
The Longwood community, with the help of Strathbogie Shire Council, is now calling for people to review the draft plan and provide input.
“This is a community initiated and owned plan,” Mayor Laura Binks said.
“The community wants to ensure your ideas and input have been captured correctly before the masterplan is finalised.”
The Draft Longwood Masterplan identifies different potential projects across key areas, including the equestrian zone, the oval/sports zone, the dam/wetlands zone, the pub paddock, and the railway land zone.
“Draft plans for each area can be found at www.share.strathbogie.vic.gov.au along with a survey seeking feedback on priority projects,” Cr Binks said.
The feedback period is now open and will close at 5pm on January 27.
Pitch My Project is now open for submission to the 2023-24 council budget.
