The Eagles aren't planning to hang around when they face off against Finley in Sunday's Murray Netball League semi-final.
When the two sides met earlier in the season, United raced out to a 19-6 lead at quarter-time and didn't look back, going on to win by 52 goals.
Eagles coach Lisa Drysdale said she wanted to see the same intent this weekend.
"We need to get back to that sort of form if we are going to beat the best teams," she said.
"Doing it against the lower sides is always good but you need to translate it into those bigger games which we failed to do last week.
"Everyone was frustrated with how we started the game against Moama and we've been working to make sure that doesn't happen again.
"If we can put ourselves in the ascendancy it will go a long way to winning the game."
With Finley set to take to the court with one of the youngest line-ups in the competition, United could take advantage of their inexperience.
But Drysdale said she was expecting a tough contest after the Cats shocked Mulwala in the elimination final last weekend.
"There is no doubting they'll be confident of pulling off another upset," she said.
"I'm expecting them to have plenty of energy throughout the court to start the game but if we can build a strong lead they might drop their heads.
"Finley will have nothing to lose so it will be a hard fought contest the whole way through."
In last week's game against Moama, United struggled with their transition between attack and defence.
And it has been a strong focus at training throughout the week.
"We made too many errors in mid-court and it put more pressure on our defence," she said.
"Our composure with the ball will be better if we want to win the game.
"Based on our efforts at training, I think there will be a good response from the girls."
