Such were the standards set in this year’s Deniliquin Anzac Day races Fashions on the Field event, you could have been excused for thinking you were in the hub of Rodeo Drive or flicking through the pages of Vogue magazine.

If Anna Wintour - editor-in-chief of American Vogue and the chief content officer of Condé Nast - were present she would certainly be peering behind her fashion-enviable sunglasses, secretly admiring the creations that stood before her.
In charge of judging the Deni event this year were Jenny Fellows and Rebecca Stacey.
And the entrants came to win, making some sections difficult to judge.
The fashions among the crowd reflected the freedom that a stunning, sunny day allowed and the gusto that the Deni races “were back”.
The ladies favoured florals and bright colours, while some took fashion to another level.
They carefully planned their outfit to compliment each piece to perfection.
The men were predominately a mixture of Ralph Lauren light blue shirts, Moleskin pants or chinos, with well fitted suits also a popular choice.
The kids were happy with whatever they or their parents had selected, as long as it allowed them the freedom to zip around and play.
Fashions on the Field was hosted in a central location at the Deniliquin Racecourse, on a float that was decorated to compliment the ANZAC spirit with a black background and a beautiful red poppy centrepiece.
The much anticipated Lady of the Day category of the fashion arena was won by Kelly Carty from Bendigo.
She was awarded a $350 voucher from Deniliquin Showcase Jewellers, a bottle of champagne and a bouquet of flowers.
Runner-up was Elizabeth Paterson from Griffith, who was awarded a $150 voucher from Deniliquin Showcase Jewellers, a bottle of champagne and a bouquet of flowers.
The Gentleman of the Day was Michael Carty, husband of the ladies winner.
Mr Carty was awarded a $300 voucher from Deni Clothing Co.
Runner-up was Deni’s own Nick Glowrey who received a $100 voucher from Deni Clothing Co.
And in a Carty family trifecta, Kelly and Michael’s son won the young male racegoer category and claimed a $100 voucher from Deniliquin Clothing Co.
The young female racegoer winner was Deni’s Lexi Bucholz, who received a $100 voucher from Deniliquin Showcase Jewellers.
The runner-up was Olivia Pearce who received a $50 voucher from Deniliquin Clothing Co.
Fashions on the field coordinator Liz Whykes was extremely happy with the result of hours of hard work to bring together the event.
