It was a great turnout for author Darry Fraser, with library staff needing to put out extra chairs to fit all the attendees.
The event kicked off at 7.30pm with library services manager Jenny Mustey introducing Ms Fraser.
Ms Fraser then took over and effortlessly commanded the room as she talked about her creative process, the inspiration for her latest novel, and answered questions from the guests.
Darry Fraser captivated the crowd as she spoke about her latest novel.

Ms Fraser said her author talks had been well received so far.
“We came down from Swan Hill to Cohuna, which was such a blast, and then we’re heading off to Shepparton and Benalla after Echuca,” she said.
“I’ve only done four shows so far but it’s been really wonderful, the receptions have been lovely.”
She added that she enjoyed coming back to Echuca because of her connection to the town.
“I love coming back to Echuca ... it sounds a bit funny, but this is my spirit country. When I came here as a little kid, it just wrapped itself around me and the river has stayed with me all that time.”

After the talk, guests were able to purchase books from Echuca Collins Booksellers and have them signed.
The event was part of Ms Fraser’s book tour, promoting her latest novel, The Night on the Darling River.
The story follows the journey of Tess Hawthorn as she tries to escape a violent home in the midst of the Shearers Strike and other turbulence.
Much like her other novels, the book explores the role of women throughout important eras of Australia’s history.
The tour officially began in December and will finish on Tuesday, February 25.
