Recently Country Women’s Association (CWA) members from Yarrawonga/Border, Benalla, Boorhaman, Corowa, Swanpool and Thoona branches took part in the very successful two-day Moira Group CWA Creative Arts Exhibition in Yarrawonga.

Members arrived from 8am onward Friday morning to have entries in place ready for judging that morning and there were over 330 entries across a wide range of sections.
The exhibition then opened at 1pm to the public.
Group President (GP) Rosslyn Heaney welcomed everybody and congratulated all participants in the exhibition.
Helen Wall OAM, CWA Member of Honor, past State President and judge thanked members for their entries and congratulated them for the high standard of work while wishing Moira Group a successful exhibition and officially declared the exhibition open.
2022 awards were announced and trophies presented: Best Branch Aggregate over 20 Members: Yarrawonga Border; Best Branch Aggregate under 20 Members: Thoona ; Best Branch Exhibit: Swanpool; Best Entry from a Branch Exhibit: Desley Auld, Thoona; Best Entry from sections 3 – 19: Faye Glover; Most Successful 2022 Exhibitor Maree Semple: Thoona; Most Successful 2022 Junior Member: Zoe Garratt; GP Encouragement Award: Rhonda Hammon; GP Junior Encouragement Award: Elle Hammon and Zoe Garratt.

As well as the competition entries to look at, craft and cooking demonstrations attracted interest, especially the 10-stitch knitting technique and the scone making, much discussion and sharing of tips and techniques ensued.
A short meeting was held on Friday to elect a new Group President.
Judith Lockwood from Corowa Branch accepted nomination and was elected unopposed. Judith will be assisted by Heather Wynack also from Corowa.
