Campaspe Shire Council has shared its Annual Report 2023-24, with the current councillor group receiving the report at its final meeting on Tuesday, October 15.
The report provides insights into the past financial year, including council achievements, performance, governance and financial reporting.
All local councils in Victoria are required to develop these reports, which must include a report of operation of the council, an audited performance statement and financial statements and copies of the auditor’s reports on the performance and financial statements.
Areas that the report goes into detail on include grant funding, community engagement, infrastructure, and a comparison of the 2023-24 Council Plan with the status of projects and plans.
Also in the document is a financial report and performance statement, approved by independent auditors.
A message from Mayor Rob Amos and chief executive Pauline Gordon is included, reflecting on council’s challenges and successes over the past 12 months.
“It has been a year of proud achievements, resilience and considerable growth despite another flood event in January, 2024, that tested the resolve of our community, particularly those in Rochester,” they said.
The annual report is available on council’s website, and is presented in a clear, visually appealing and accessible way for residents to understand.
