Drought-affected farmers across northern Victoria and the southern Riverina have received a helping hand on the weekend, with much-needed hay and feed supplies making their way to 100 farms.

Run by Need for Feed Disaster Relief, the event saw volunteers from across the country deliver hampers and much-needed supplies.
Need For Feed Disaster Relief northern Victoria and southern NSW co-ordinator Linda Ryder said the region was ‘‘screwed’’ if it didn’t rain soon.
With floods in north Queensland, drought in southern Queensland and NSW, and the recent fires in Gippsland, the group hasn’t stopped for the past several months.
Mrs Ryder said the dry conditions were seeing everyone around the country doing it tough, with requests for help jumping from 150 a month to 400.
With volunteers chipping in wherever they can, Mrs Ryder said the group always needed more funds to be able to continue to lend a helping hand.
After congregating in Nagambie overnight Saturday, the convoy of trucks and volunteers made their way to farms across the region, before meeting up again in Cobram for a barbecue on Sunday night.
Farmers and businesspeople were invited to come along for the evening, with local businesses and community groups helping cater the event.
