With great prize money on the line plus two Victorian titles, the event attracts a large number of leading axe men and women from across the state.
Local axeman Brad Meyer will be competing on the day.
“I compete in most things but my favourites are the tree climbing and hot chainsaw race,” Brad said.
“Those tend to be crowd favourites ... it will be an action-packed day with a lot of axemen there.
“Events will be happening every 10 to 15 minutes with six to eight competitors in each round. They’ll work through the heats and into the finals throughout the day.”
The event with the highest prize money for first place is the 300mm Standing Block Championship, which offers up $500 to the victor.
Hosted by the Central Victorian Axeman’s Association, activities start at 10am and go until 3pm (or whenever it’s all done) on the Sunday.
The high octane ‘hot chainsaw race’ will start at 12pm sharp for lunchtime attendees.
Events will include traditional standing block, underhand log, tree climbing and sawing.
