Benalla basketball supported by Australia Post grant

Benalla Basketball Association is one of 14 community organisations across the north-east to benefit from Australia Post’s annual People of Post Grants.

The grants are designed to support diverse volunteer-run organisations and not-for-profits within local communities.

Each organisation will receive funding of up to $1000 as part of the initiative.

Almost $400,000 in total has been awarded nationwide with 132 grants delivered across Victoria.

Amongst the 132 community groups awarded grants, 33 were identified as having an impact on mental health, while 34 support communities experiencing disadvantage, culturally and linguistically diverse, and Indigenous communities.

Australia Post General Manager Community and Stakeholder Engagement Nicky Tracey said the annual program would once again help hundreds of grassroots and not-for-profit groups thrive.

“These grants give our team members the opportunity to recognise and support the meaningful work being done by local community groups they are passionate about,” Ms Tracey said.
