The partnership comes as SPC looks to inject some fun back into the baked beans aisle.
“Teaming up with Vegemite to create the most Australian canned product out there is an exciting milestone in SPC’s long and proud Aussie heritage,” SPC marketing manager George Dimkin said.
“We’re expanding the variety of baked beans available, which is sure to give Aussies a reason to fall in love with baked beans all over again.”
Despite the overpowering (some would argue pungent) aroma of Vegemite, SPC says the baked bean combo retains the classic rich SPC flavour.
Borrowing from Vegemite’s classic anthem, SPC said it was an ideal Aussie combination that could be enjoyed at “breakfast, lunch and tea”.
Vegemite marketing manager Jacqui Roth said Australians already loved Vegemite on toast with baked beans.
“So it was a no-brainer to partner with SPC on this exciting new product,” she said.
"We can’t wait to see how Aussies respond to this flavour match made in heaven.”
