If the answer is yes, then one of the finalists in the Victorian Regional Achievement and Community Awards could provide the answer.
Avenel's Jock Lawrence and his father were looking to digitise their own on-farm records but the software they trialled was either too clunky, over-complicated or angled towards more intensive farming.
“In a bid to find the most suitable software for my family farm, I started Mobble, the latest farm and livestock management software intended to strip back complications and put a focus on connection and simplicity,” he said.
Mr Lawrence, who is a finalist in the Agriculture Innovation Award, said it was an honour to be recognised and hoped it would mean more farmers take up his technology.
“It's a great honour to be recognised in that way,” he said.
“It means we now have credibility in ag-tech and the farming community.
“The recognition and credibility through being a finalist will hopefully put the confidence in farmers to trust Mobble going forward.
“The client base is growing by the hundreds by the month and hopefully we can grow that even further with this recognition and credibility.”
Despite the software only being available for four months in its current form, Mr Lawrence said COVID-19 could see an increase in the uptake of Mobble.
“We started in January 2019 and it was a restricted release,” he said.
“Then, four months ago, we released the final release and we've seen real growth in Mobble across Victoria, Australia and New Zealand.
“I think COVID-19 is accelerating digital technology adoption in agriculture and we are looking at taking advantage of that trend.
“People are seeing digital record keeping as a real, powerful option and people in agriculture are starting to react to that.”
Award winners will be announced on Friday, December 4.
