The National Farmers Federation and the Regional Tech Hub are holding a webinar to arm farmers and regional residents with information to navigate the 3G shutdown to ensure a smooth transition.
The webinar is open to anyone and will have representatives from Telstra, Optus and the Regional Tech Hub to answer questions regarding the closure of 3G networks.
The NFF said the changes may come with the risk of changes in service levels.
“While we know the switch off is necessary to enhance connectivity, we also know there may be questions and concerns, particularly for those living and working in rural, regional, and remote Australia,” the NFF said.
Telstra’s free easy-to-use text service is also available to help customers find out if they need to take action to upgrade their devices before June 30.
Telstra said although affected customers may have already been informed by the company, the text line was a further aid for people not yet aware of their connectivity.
Customers can text ‘3’ to the phone number 3498 and will receive a returning text from Telstra to indicate the status of their device and whether any action needs to be taken to remain connected.
