Maisy and Boz had everything worked out. After spending their youth herding sheep with owner Adam Caspani, they’d traded hard work for a small broadacre and flower farm. Their biggest problem was deciding which sunbeam to sleep in. Life was good — then Boris arrived.

I had them when I was working full-time on a sheep and cropping farm. There is Maisy and Boz — short for bozo. We’d just picked him up as a pup and the kids were arguing about a name in the car. I said we’ll go with Boz for now, and it stuck. Maisy has just the sweetest nature on a dog.
Who’s in charge?: Maisy and Boz live relaxed and chilled out lives with their owner, Adam Caspani. Boris, on the other hand, is ready to rumble.

Three’s a crowd: Unhappy with the status quo, Boris gave Boz his marching orders and muscled in on pack leader Adam.
Do they still work?
They were doing work, now they’re just pets.
How old are they?
Maisy is six. Boz might be around five.

And who’s Boris?
Boris is a Jack Russell-cross-foxy. He’s less than a year old. It was the middle of lockdown and the kids wanted an inside dog. He was inside for about a month and then he was an outside dog. He acts tough but if a visitor stands up to him he’ll run away.
What’s Boris like?
Boris is good because he stays near the house, whereas the other two will take off if they’re not in their run. They’ll chase rabbits and be returned by the neighbours.
Do the males get along?
Boris is still intact, Boz isn’t. They are still trying to work it out and Boris isn’t afraid to start something. He’s very protective of Maisy.
