Everybody’s Favourite
INGREDIENTS:
185g butter
1½ tablespoons golden syrup
1½ cups SR flour
¾ cup brown sugar
¾ cup dates (can use mixed fruit/chocolate chips)
METHOD:
Combine the dry ingredients.
Melt the butter and golden syrup together, cool slightly
Pour onto dry ingredients.
Press into 18cm x 28cm slice tin, greased and lined with baking paper
Bake 20 mins in moderate oven (180℃).
When cool, dust with icing sugar or ice with lemon icing and cut into fingers.
