Families, students and staff from within the community gathered in their cosy winter woollies to celebrate unity and hope.
The community hub, St Georges Primary School, Shepparton English Language Centre and Arthur Mawson Kindergarten families all joined in the fun.
The News photographer Rechelle Zammit went along to capture families with their lantern creations.
