Met with eruptions from the crowd, the Berry St Debutante Ball presented the next wave of local debutantes and their escorts: young participants from Berry St programs.
This annual event, ushered in by young people in Hume programs years ago, has blossomed into a highly anticipated tradition in the organisation’s calendar.
And as expected, it was a grand affair.
Months of rehearsals paid off as young men in tails and bow ties navigated the dance floor while debutantes in long white gowns orbited them.
Beyond dancing and deep curtsies, the evening celebrated Shepparton’s youth.
Guests included state Member for Shepparton Kim O'Keeffe, state Member for Northern Victoria Wendy Lovell and City of Greater Shepparton Deputy Mayor Sam Spinks.
