Ahead of Father's Day, tongs and ties were replaced by a gift that warmed the hearts (and bellies) of the dads of Bourchier St Primary School.

The first meal of the day on Friday, August 30, was served at the school for fathers and father figures, prepared with the help of the little learners.

There was laughter, conversation, and, yes, a dad joke or two shared between bites.

Amid the excitement, students slipped away to the Father's Day stall to pick out the best mug, the most fluorescent measuring tape, or, for the dads who have it all, a classic pair of socks.

The News was sent photos from the celebration.
