Principal Marcia Waters said it was going to be a really exciting opportunity for their students to get active and have fun on wheels with Al’s Skate Co.
“Our students thrive from active learning, and with no skate park in our town, we thought this would be a great way to represent the move and motivate aspects of this year’s Education Week theme,” Mrs Waters said.
“Our school has strong links to our local community groups including, junior football, net set go, and the tennis and bowls club.
“Not just in Education Week do we strive to involve our students in active activities and learning, we do it all year.”
The ‘make’ aspect of this year’s theme will come into play within the school via some hands-on learning with STEM sessions.
“We are hoping to tie this in with the pop-up skate park and foster discussions on science, technology, engineering, and maths among our curious student minds.
“Experiments with wheels and ramps will also be a lot of educational fun, our students are excited for the week already.”
