For a couple that never had an interest in interior design, Robert and Minhee Kani realised pretty early that curtains were just as important as artwork and could add a unique design element to their home.

“They can completely change a room,” Robert said.
“Minhee was always thinking white for everything, white walls, white kitchen, and white curtains.
“I was always searching for unique and bold ways to be different.”
Their charming space that is both open with flow and stunning natural light, provided them the opportunity to really make a statement.
Growing in view, from the open windows which overlook a relaxing and warm entertaining area, were a row of privacy trees. Before too long they would be tall enough to block their neighbours out of sight.
“We love looking outside, it’s another part of our home we enjoy being in, so we didn’t want to block it out with blinds,” Minhee said.
“That’s the reason why we went with sheer blinds.
“Robert convinced me to go bright rather than white, and we are both so glad we did.”
Robert and Minhee went to Wyndham Décor with a clear vision in mind. Sheer curtains to match their kitchen feature splash back, with a matte metal track to compliment the other design elements that were growing in their home around them.
The curtain track was made to fit and bends around the windows for a more natural flow.
The colour was matched, and the sheer material was made with a wave fold which creates an instant sense of luxury.
The couple, who moved to Shepparton in 2020 to be closer to family while raising their son Kyden, have implemented some stunning finishes in their home.
Smart technology is something Robert is passionate about, so not only do they have statement curtains, Siri can also open and close them.
Bringing fashion to your windows can come in a number of different ways. There will always be different designs and fabrics that showcase a mixture of textured linen to bold and beautiful prints.
Trends are forever changing, be bold and make a statement in your home, and dress those windows to impress.
