It’s the first time the NDIS provider has done something of this calibre, but director Helen Janke said it wouldn’t be the last.
“This is just a step-up, and we’ll go onwards and upwards,” Ms Janke said.
She told a story of one cast member who was emotional when they made it to the stage.
“I asked her what was wrong, and she goes, this is being a dream,” Ms Janke said.
“It’s something we all take for granted but for a lot of this cast, this is a dream come true.”
The cast members have been going well, Ms Janke said, learning every dance, nailing entrances and exits and perfecting lines.
“They’re basically superstars,” she said.
“It’s a big adjustment but the discipline they’ve shown is incredible.
“It will be the most joyous night out that you will experience all year, and you will leave with a full heart and a smile on your face.”
The performance comes after Creating Drama found a home at Riverlinks Studios earlier in the year.
“Thank you to Riverlinks for the opportunity for our residency,” Ms Janke said.
“We finally had a place to call our own beautiful studio to work and it is just absolutely great.”
Aladdin Jr will hit the Riverlinks Eastbank stage on Saturday, November 16 at 7.30pm.
