Two directors are retiring from the board.
Applications are now open for directors to represent milk producers and the herd improvement supply chain.
Chair Graeme Gillan said the two new directors would play a key role in the continuing innovation of Australia’s dairy industry.
“Directors bring strong experience in dairy, herd improvement, finance, research and development and governance and set the course for DataGene’s key activities,” he said.
The DataGene board includes three directors with direct expertise in dairy farm management.
Mr Gillan said it was important to have directors experienced in all facets of milk production and dairy farming systems who could identify and evaluate technology and service programs to support the industry.
He said a director from the herd improvement supply chain would help to drive new opportunities to improve the industry’s profitability.
Directors can serve a three-year term and up to three consecutive terms.
Mr Gillan said the rotation of directors ensured the ongoing refreshment of skills and experience on the board.
