The News attended a dress rehearsal earlier this week to find out why the young dancers of Shepparton joined the art form and why they love it.
Here’s what they had to say.
Ari Alanpi, 6
When I was zero, I started to dance around and I like it because I like that the teachers tell me what to do. I think I’m best at doing cartwheels but my favourite part is the lights on the stage.
Lara Murphy, 6
Ever since I was little I wanted to grow up as a dancer. It’s very fun because you get to dance in front of people at the concert and they always clap for us. The dressing up is good too.
Brighton Hoare, 6
When I was little I would always dance and move and would do it a lot. It makes me tired but I love dancing. I think I’m good at it now and I still think it’s fun.
Rebecca Trevaskis, 7
I always wanted to dance in the pool and I was going to do gymnastics but the groups were filled up so it was either nothing or acro. I like dancing cause I get to be with my friends.
