The committee was worried the future of the show was under threat as it could not find a secretary who could play a pivotal role in organising the annual event.
Last year’s show was cancelled due to COVID-19.
But last month they found a candidate in Bron Sands, a “refugee” from urban Healesville who has moved to northern Victoria for a tree change.
Although she has no previous experience on a show committee, Ms Sands has experience in organising events, was raised in rural NSW and loves agricultural shows.
“I moved up here from Healesville to Naring about four years ago and I wanted to become more involved in community events,” Ms Sands said.
“I love living in the country, where people know each other.”
She is not averse to trying new things.
Ms Sands has also been roped into coaching an under-eight soccer team in Numurkah, a role she can claim no previous experience in.
She has been educating herself on YouTube videos and is also studying for a diploma in community services.
Nathalia Show day is October 1, and the committee has invited everyone to think about exhibit entries.

A special feature this year is Lego — with new classes and bigger prizes, including an Adult Fan of Lego class and school class.
The pavilion sections such as cooking, garden produce, craft, needlework and woodwork will be back and the show schedule will be available shortly.
Jade Sieben will be the show’s chief cattle judge.
Committee meetings are now held on the first Wednesday of the month.
Ms Sands appreciates that running the show is a team event and will be relying on the support and guidance of the committee.
She would like to hear from anyone who is prepared to volunteer some of their time.
Ms Sands can be contacted on bronsands@gmail.com or 0497 111 139.
