Rowbottom flew from Melbourne to Coolangatta on Saturday night after watching from the MCG stands as older brother James and his Sydney teammates copped an 81-point belting at the hands of Geelong in the AFL grand final.
The Suns' midfield jet shook off her sibling's disappointment to torch the Power with 26 disposals (15 contested) and eight clearances in her side's 7.4 (46) to 5.2 (32) triumph.
Rowbottom's midfield dominance and captain Tara Bohanna's three-goal haul were pivotal in Gold Coast posting their second successive victory to move to within touching distance of the top eight.
"All we did was play our game and it really paid off," Rowbottom said.
"All the girls worked so well together.
"Massively pleased to get a win in front of the home crowd. The support here is amazing.
"Full credit to the team and the coaching staff. We're working so well together and it's been amazing."
Port defender Alex Ballard's powerful intercept marking thwarted the hosts who were held goalless at quarter-time, unable to capitalise on their territory dominance with the breeze.
The dam wall eventually busted late in the second stanza, the Suns forging a 19-point half-time lead after a burst of three quick goals into the wind.
Rowbottom won a contested groundball, fended off Cheyenne Hammond and fed Ellie Hampson, who bounced through the opening major.
Bohanna slotted her first after snaring a powerful mark before Courtney Jones got on the board a minute later.
Jac Dupuy nailed back-to-back goals to start the third before Britt Perry finally got the Power on the board with her first touch in the shadows of three-quarter time.
Gold Coast led by 32 points at the final change and looked home but they were forced to withstand a furious late Port rally, spearheaded by Ange Foley.
Foley converted a free kick, Sachi Syme did likewise and Indy Tahau's soccered goal off the deck made it three goals in two minutes.
The Suns responded when Ellie Hampson's barging centre clearance finished in the hands of Bohanna, who saw off Port's rearguard with her match-sealing third.
